“Merea” – Hebrew for “young friend” or “woman who welcomes the insight and knowledge of a more mature woman.” Titus 2:3-5, written by Paul, specifically targets women’s relationships with one another. This scripture, in short, teaches us that older women should teach younger women to be reverent in the way they live and to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to “love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”
Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church’s Merea Fellowship under the Women’s Ministry, will hold its first informational session for individuals who signed up for the fellowship on Sunday, September 10, 2017 after the 10am service in the fellowship hall. If you have any questions, wish to sign up for this amazing fellowship opportunity or want to participate but will be unable to make it, please see Lorene Fisher, Chair of Merea Fellowship, or Natalie Clark, Co-Chair of Merea Fellowship.
